Capital Punishment for Juveniles
There’s been a great deal of debate surrounding the fact that the United States is the only developed nation that sentences juveniles to life imprisonment. Personally, I feel this is an unduly harsh punishment. Children under the age of 18 are not fully developed and therefore do not completely understand the consequences of their actions. I believe this to be true in all cases, except for one. The one exception is the case of Little Jake Nabin, a.k.a. Baby Jakes, Chubby Toes and Jakey-Wake-Ums.

When Li’l Jakes was six moths old he killed 42 people aboard a Chicago, double-decker tour bus and then led police on a four month long baby-hunt leaving a horrific trail of dismembered corpses in his wake. For most criminals, redemption is a very realistic goal, but Jakes crimes are inexcusable. If you had looked into his eyes while he laid sideways upon the witness stand you would have clearly seen that this mankiller is utterly bereft of a soul.
