Hearts & Minds: Target Africa!

Trish & Tami Cherry
Okay. My parents who are the cutest (but TOTALLY ex-hippies--even though my mom claims she never smoked pot) are always telling me and my sister Trish that we should be doing stuff to "make the world better." And I def. agree. That’s why I always make cookies for the wrestling team bake sale (never missed a year!). And when I was in New York City I gave a dollar to a homeless guy . . . I mean, it was gross but he totally needed it WAY more than I did.
But this year, I really want to make a difference!
As you may or may NOT know . . . America is a country with alot of resources and stuff (we have more malls, SUVs and fast food restaurants than other places . . . and, BTW, I still don't think another mall in my area would hurt anybody . . .). But there are lots of other places with WAY less stuff, like Africa and the countries over there. Kids sometimes don't have shoes! That is so crazy . . . what if their feet get stepped on?
So I WANT TO HELP . . . I mean something like Brad and Angelina who had their baby in Africa . . . woah . . . talk about bold and scary and really helping Africa!
I want to collect ALL the left-over candy from Halloween (when I dressed as a Witch's Cat!) and send it to kids in Africa . . . who probably got so little when they went trick or treating, which is so depressing. Halloween is supposed to be like the one day you can eat so much candy you can get sick and not feel guilty or anything about the calories . . . cause it’s just a way to celebrate and be proud of our heritage. It’s not a dumb hallmark holiday like Valentine's Day.
I think this is gonna make a really big difference to kids in Zamgolia, Botsambique and other countries that I think are in Africa (and also to their parents who are probably sick of their complaining) who just can't be so happy and fortunate as most people I know. SO LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND START GIVING!!!
