The 6 Hottest First Daughters of All Time

Tags presidential, hottest, daughters

Barely Political searched far and wide over the last 232 years of presidential daughters, and we've come up with some real beauties. Current age is in parentheses, unless they're, well, deceased.

1. Jenna Bush (26) – It's hotly debated which fraternal Bush twin is cuter; some prefer blond schoolteacher Jenna, others prefer brunette Barbara. The Bush Twins have the distinction of being the First Twins, since they're the first twin children in the White House. She currently teaches at a charter school in Washington, D.C.

2. Tricia Nixon Cox (61) circa 1970 – Besides being the only presidential child to have a hit pop song written about her (Jay & The Americans anti-war "Tricia (Tell Your Daddy)"), she's perhaps the cutest presidential child of the '60s or '70s. Although a native Californian like her father, Tricia settled in NYC after her 1971 marriage, where she maintains a pretty low-key life as the wife of a corporate attorney.

3. Susan Ford (50) circa 1974 – Few White House child hotties have had careers as varied as Susan Ford's (photojournalist, mystery novelist, Betty Ford Center chairperson). This early '70s photo (with Shan the Siamese cat) is a Breck-era classic. Meow.

4. Barbara Bush (26) – Barbara, another NYC-residing presidential child, was turned onto Bob Dylan in the sixth grade by future first-lady Laura Bush. The 26-year-old brunette currently works with The Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. To join and make Barbara really happy, click here.

5. Alice Roosevelt Longworth (deceased) circa 1902 – Not to be confused with Alice In Chains, Alice Roosevelt Longworth was the oldest child of Teddy Roosevelt, and quite a fox, back in the day. More of a celebrity and fashion icon in her day than the Bush daughters were in theirs, she was a flagrant rule-breaker: smoking cigarettes in public, partied late, and kept a pet snake named Emily Spinach. In a 1974 60 Minutes interview, she claimed to be a "hedonist". Longworth died in 1980, at the ripe old age of 96.

6. Patti Davis (55) circa '94 – By far the most "Boogie Nights" of any presidential child, actress and best-selling author Patti Davis firmly broke ranks with her family by posing for Playboy in '94, at age 41. [They later reconciled.] Her backstory: in the '70s, she co-wrote an Eagles song with then-boyfriend Bernie Leadon (pissing off Don Henley), did peyote and later married her yoga instructor, Paul Grilley, in 1984. One of these nights, indeed.

  • Your obvious hardon for blondes has seriously compromised your judgment. And your claim to have "searched far and wide" is contradicted by the incompleteness of your list.

  • Tricia Nixon Cox is not the only presidential child to have a song written about her. Neil Diamond wrote Sweet Caroline for Caroline Kennedy, daughter of John F Kennedy.

  • The Bush Twins are about the only good thing (OK, aside from the classy first lady) that W. brought to the White House. And Barbara wins the cuteness battle hands down. ;-)
